The direction and operation of the Hastings Public Library is controlled by the Library Board. The library board is made up of nine members, five members appointed by the City of Hastings, two members appointed by Hastings Township and two members appointed by Rutland Township. The Library Board meets on the 3rdnd Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the Library. The library has 54,000 volumes.
